Meredith and Mark wanted an intimate adventure with their pup Peyton, so they had a romantic elopement at Alta Lakes in Telluride. Alta Lakes is a special place for Meredith, as her family owns property nearby. The couple’s love of the outdoors guided every detail of their day. We spent the morning exploring high alpine lakes and wandering through fields full of wildflowers. I love when couples include their furbabies, and Peyton stole the show in an overload of pup photos. Alta Lakes sits at 11,300 feet in a high alpine basin. Towering mountain peaks surround it, creating a breathtaking backdrop for their elopement.
After hiking and exploring the lakes, we drove to Meredith’s family property for the ceremony. They exchanged vows beneath a grove of golden aspen trees. The intimate setting made every moment feel personal and magical. After the ceremony, Meredith and Mark carved their initials into a tree, a sweet symbol of their love. This was done on private property, and I always remind couples to respect nature and follow leave-no-trace principles. Choosing locations meaningful to the couple makes elopements extra special, and this was no exception.
The day flowed naturally between adventure and romance. Meredith and Mark’s connection was obvious in every glance, every smile, and every quiet moment. The combination of mountain air, wildflowers, and Peyton’s joyful energy made the day unforgettable. Telluride offered the perfect mix of adventure and intimacy for their romantic elopement at Alta Lakes. It was a day filled with love, laughter, and the kind of memories that last a lifetime.
