Alexandra and Tim always knew they wanted an intimate day just for them. They loved the idea of being surrounded by nature. So they decided to have a Cathedral Rock Hiking Elopement in Sedona, Arizona. It made the perfect backdrop for their adventurous elopement.
We started the day strolling through the Tlaquepaque shopping center. Getting lost down the little alleys reminded me of the little villages in Italy. One of their favorite moments was coming upon a musician playing in the square. “He winked at Tim and started to play wedding music. I got to twirl and dance and have such a fun, spontaneous moment. Even though we didn’t have a traditional reception, we got to share a special first dance!”
Afterward, we made our way into the desert and hiked to the perfect spot for their ceremony. Alexandra wore her mother’s necklace and Tim’s U.S. Army pin on her bouquet. At the same time, Tim carried their best friend’s handkerchief in his jacket pocket. The smallest touches made for the perfect ceremony.
They read their vows to each other, surrounded by the red rocks. The only people around were a few hikers passing by, two of which stopped to sign the marriage license! After the ceremony, we hiked up to Cathedral Rock, scaling vertical walls. We spent the late afternoon dancing in the sun and drinking champagne. Finally, we made our way back down the trail and took one last shot under the stars, an epic end to their Cathedral Rock Hiking Elopement in Sedona.
