Ben and Jordan have the kind of love story that little girls dream about. The two met in high school, and started dating shortly after becoming friends. Ben excelled in athletics while Jordan was in the band, and the two beat the odds of many high school sweethearts and went on to graduate High School, College and Graduate School together. As if all those years of school and young adulthood weren’t challenge enough, Ben has continued to support Jordan on a daily basis as she lives with a chronic illness that requires love and understanding. The two have also supported eachother through family related illness, and many other challenges along the way. As Jordan puts it, “I couldn’t ask for anyone better.”
For their destination elopement, Ben and Jordan chose beautiful Sedona, Arizona. Sedona is a place of significance for Jordan, as she annually vacationed there with her Grandparents until her Grandfather fell too ill to make the trip. It is a place that harbors some of life’s happiest memories for her, and a place she hopes to continue to enjoy with Ben and their future family.
The day of the elopement we hiked to Cathedral Rock, where we took their bride and groom portraits against a dramatic backdrop of red rock pillars and what looked like a painted desert sky. Afterwards we took a short hike to Bell Rock and in the presence of only the officiant and a mutual friend, Jordan and Ben held their hands over eachother’s hearts to symbolize their unity, and their everlasting devotion to one another. During the ceremony, the couple soaked their wedding rings in water, which they later poured on a young sapling together, encouraging it’s growth and giving them a living place in years to come to return to celebrate their love. It was a joyous experience celebrating the love of Ben and Jordan, a memory that will hopefully stand as one of their fondest for years to come.
