Danae and Evan traveled out west for an adventurous engagement session at Horseshoe Bend in Page, Arizona. A quiet little town in northern Arizona, an iconic location in the Southwest. Nestled along the shores of Lake Powell, Page is known for three iconic destinations: Antelope Canyon, Horseshoe Bend, and of course, Lake Powell.
Danae and Evan rented an RV and turned their engagement session into a road trip. We started at a trailhead on the outskirts of Page, wandering through the sandy landscape. I love capturing the gorgeous desert tones against the bright blue sky. As much as I love the mountains, there is something special about the desert light! Eventually, making it to Horseshoe Bend for sunset. We wandered the canyon’s edge with a 270º view of the Colorado River below. I am always blown away by the size of the canyon. Peering down the vast 1,000ft canyon walls makes you feel so small in comparison. The clouds rolled in and made a dramatic end to their adventurous engagement session at Horseshoe Bend.
After their engagement, they invited me to photograph their wedding in Ireland! So, we flew across the ocean, where they were married in a castle dating back to the 17th century. You can check out their incredible wedding here: Intimate Wedding at Markree Castle, Ireland.
