Amelia and Michah wanted their wedding day to be intimate, unique, and intimate, so they decided to have an adventurous glamping elopement in Big Bend National Park.Β I met them in Terlingua, a tiny little ghost town out in the middle of the desert. 4 hours from the closest airport or 5 from El Paso, Terlingua is a unique place with a lot of character.Β
I met Amelia and Michah atΒ The Local Chapter, a picturesque glamping experience with custom-built yurts. Amelia slipped into her dress on one side of the yurt while Michah finished on the other. It was fun to capture them getting ready together without seeing each other. After their first look, we headed to Santa Elena canyon. They laid down a blanket and exchanged rings among the rugged desert landscape, making the perfect backdrop for their ceremony. Then, as the sun peaked over the towering canyon walls, we returned to the yurt to sign the marriage license.Β
After a short break, we drove down the road to find the perfect spot for sunset. First, we stopped by a local church where they rang the bell in celebration, my favorite part of the day! Then, we found a nice spot along the river to enjoy some champagne and watch the sun go down, which was the perfect end to the perfect day.
Amelia and Michahβs adventurous glamping elopement in Big Bend National Park was the perfect escape for couples wanting a private desert getaway.Β
