Cassie and Brett wanted their special day to be in a place that was the essence of Colorado and had an adventurous winter elopement in Telluride. It was a place that was new to both of them, so they knew it would be the perfect adventure. The San Juan Mountains offer breathtaking views all year round, with the highest concentration of 13,000 and 14,000-foot peaks in the lower 48. The San Juans are ideal for outdoor enthusiasts wanting a romantic getaway. Tucked in a box canyon surrounded by majestic 14,000-foot peaks, Telluride is one of the most spectacular mountain towns. In the winter, the mountains flood with skiers and snowboarders that travel from all over to ride the iconic mountains.
Cassie and Brett drove down to Telluride with Cassie’s best friend and Brett’s brother in tow. Before the ceremony, they requested a photo on top of their Toyota FJ cruiser, so we stopped along the road for a rad shot with Mt Wilson in the background. Fun fact, Mt Wilson is the mountain range on the Coors can! Then, the four trekked out into the fresh snow in matching sorel snow boots (so cute!) In the most beautiful ceremony, they exchanged their vows in a field of untouched snow. Afterward, they celebrated with bourbon that was cooling off in the snow. They shared their first dance at 10,222 feet while the sun set behind the trees, and then Brett tackled Cassie into the snow for the sweetest pictures and snow angels. Their adventurous winter elopement in Telluride was the perfect day for two adventurous lovers.
