Brittany and Chance imagined their wedding day surrounded by their blended family in an epic mountain location. They chose the epic San Juan Mountain range as the backdrop for their sweet family elopement in Ouray, Colorado. I couldn’t have dreamed up a more perfect day.
We drove up into the mountains outside of Ouray. One of my favorite drives as you pass steep cliffs, waterfalls, and breathtaking views. We found a perfect spot at 11,700ft to lay a blanket down for the kiddos, the sweetest kids I have ever met! One of Brittany’s sons wanted a picture holding her dress, so I suggested he help her down the aisle. It was one of the sweetest moments of the day! Then, like in a scene from the sound of music mixed with the Brady Bunch, Brittany & Chance exchanged their vows.
After the ceremony, they set up a picnic in the grass with sandwiches, fruit, and juice. Picnics are my new favorite receptions as they make for the cutest pictures. As clouds rolled in, we hopped in the jeep to escape the passing rain. Which is good luck on your wedding day! We took some of the sweetest photos with the kids, and then they packed up the picnic while we took couples’ photos. Did I mention how sweet they are!? Once everyone was happy and tired, we headed back down the mountain.
I can’t imagine a more beautiful and intimate way to bring two families together than Brittany and Chance’s sweet family elopement in Ouray.
