Cariona and Omorow wanted to get married in the Bequia, a small island in the Caribbean, where their love story began. So they chose to have a destination wedding in Bequia with their close friends and family.
I flew down to the islands and was blown away by the beauty, the culture, and the friendly locals. The Caribbean is one of my favorite places to visit. It is always a unique and incredible experience! We took a catamaran sail to some of the smaller islands a few days before the wedding. We swam with turtles and enjoyed the beautiful sunshine. The water was the most intense turquoise blue waters I have ever seen. Afterward, we drank some delicious rum punch to cool off, a Caribbean tradition.
The morning of their wedding, I met Cariona at the Bequia Plantation Hotel. Once everyone was ready, we walked down the road to St. Mary’s Anglican Church, the oldest church on the island from 1829. Cariona and Omorow had the sweetest ceremony surrounded by their loved ones. After the ceremony, the bridal party walked along the oceanfront Belmont Walkway, stopping for a celebratory drink before the reception. The party continued into the night and ended with a spontaneous jump in the pool. The day after, we had a Sunday beach lime with their family and friends. We swam in the warm water, ate delicious food, and played in the sand until the sun went down.
I am always so grateful to work with such amazing couples like Cariona and Omorow, who welcomed me onto their island with open hearts. I can’t imagine a more perfect day than Cariona and Omorrow’s destination wedding in Bequia.
