Julia and Carson wanted to have a private ceremony just the two of them, so I photographed their ceremony up on the ridge overlooking the lake and it turned out to be a truly unique and intimate experience!
I met Julia and Carson and their adorable furbabe Wallie at their hotel in in town where we rode the Gondola up the mountain to the San Sophia Overlook which overlooks the small mountain town of Telluride. Wallie wasn’t a huge fan of the Gondola but he did such a good job and took the most handsome pictures at the top! As the clouds began to roll into the valley and light rain began to fall we made our way back down the mountain and hoped in the car to make our way out to their ceremony location.
We drove out to Trout Lake, one of my favorite areas close to Telluride with amazing mountain views and found the perfect spot down by the lakeside where Julia and Carson exchanged vows to one another while I photographed them from afar. Typically I stay much closer during the ceremony but this way I was able to get such unique perspectives from afar and it was such a fun experience.
After exchanging rings and reading their vows, the clouds opened up and we were blessed with some unexpected afternoon sunshine while the couple read letters from loved ones, one of my favorite ways to incorporate your friends and family into your elopement.
I am always so grateful to create with such amazing and genuine couples like Julia and Carson who continue to remind me why I love my job so much. Elopements are truly a way to throw traditions to the wind and start your married life off in the most epic way!
