Julia and Carson wanted a private ceremony, so they had a romantic lakeside elopement in Telluride. I photographed them from a ridge overlooking the lake. As much as I love capturing close-up shots during ceremonies, this intimate view was truly unique. The quiet of the mountains made every moment feel personal and magical.
Julia and Carson traveled to Telluride with their furbaby Wallie for their special day. I met the trio in town and rode the Gondola up to San Sophia Overlook, which looks over the small mountain town. Wallie wasn’t the biggest fan of the ride, but he looked so handsome in every photo. Julia was radiant in her daisy-printed wedding dress, one of my favorite dresses I’ve photographed. Clouds rolled in and the rain began to fall, adding drama and romance to the day. We drove into the mountains to reach Trout Lake, a secluded area surrounded by towering peaks and natural beauty.
The couple exchanged vows privately while I captured the moments from a distance. It created a deeply personal and memorable experience. After the ceremony, Julia and Carson rolled out a blanket to sit on and read letters from friends and family. This is one of my favorite ways to include loved ones in elopements without crowds. The setting, the mountains, and their love combined to create an unforgettable day. Wallie’s joyful energy added warmth to every photo, making the memories even more special. Julia and Carson’s romantic lakeside elopement was an incredible way to start married life together, full of love, laughter, and adventure.
