Vivian and Alex are two people who were meant to find each other. From opposite sides of the world, Vivian is from Australia, while Alex is an American. The two met in Tokoyo where Alex was stationed in the military, and Vivian was assigned as an English teacher. The day they met is the last day they ever spent apart. The couple knew that they wanted a Mountain elopement, and they found their special spot in Silverton, Colorado. They said “I do” on a secluded ridge high above the trees surrounded by mountains. They played paper rock scissors to determine who would read their vows first and after the ceremony they broke open a bottle of champagne and celebrated, just the two of them, with mountains cascading from every direction.
When I asked Vivian to describe Alex in one word she told me, “Alex is home, I have moved a lot in my lifetime and I have come to revise that being “home” is not a particular place but a person. He is that person.” Home is truly where the heart is.
