Stephanie and Zach’s intimate wedding overlooking Glacier Point was an absolutely magical day from start to finish despite all of the hoops that we had to jump through to get there! When we first started planning their dream wedding in Yosemite, we were talking about dresses and flowers and all the details to put the day together and as most couples know when planning a wedding in 2020, the world had other plans. When covid hit at the beginning of the year we hoped and prayed that we would be able to keep our plans and thankfully as the day got closer everything looked like it was all good to go, and then the wildfires near Yosemite took over and started filling the sky with smoke and raining ash, truly a sight to behold.
Thankfully we had luck and blessings on our side and the morning of their elopement the skies were beautiful as Stephanie and Zach had their fist look right before sunrise. We hiked around for pictures and watched the sun rise up over the mountains and then they were married in a beautiful intimate ceremony surrounded by their family and friends. After the ceremony we planned a picnic reception with all of their guests which had to be canceled due to the fire, but that was not going to stop us from celebrating. We drove out to their airbb in the woods and decorated the deck to have an early dinner celebration, they ate and danced and cut their wedding cake with their furbabe who absolutely stole the show.
After the reception we drove out to Taft Point and began the hike out to the canyons edge to watch the sunset. It was the perfect day for a couple so deserving of a fairytale ending. I am so glad I was able to be a part of Stephanie and Zach’s incredible adventure.
