Of all my time exploring New Zealand, Muriwai is one of my favorite locations! Jinny and Jae’s sunset engagement session in Muriwai was an epic day. From rugged cliffs, sea caves, and coastal views for miles.
Jinny and Jae wanted their engagements to be memorable. So, they decided to have an engagement session in Muriwai on the west coast of New Zealand. We started our pictures at the top of the cliff overlooking Muriwai Beach. A windswept rugged coastline stretching over 30 miles. Known for its beautiful water, black sand, and dramatic sunsets. The black sand is caused by the iron content from the ancient volcanoes in the area. I love nature!
Afterward, we hiked to Maukatia-Maori Bay, an area known for great surfing. We had the entire beach to ourselves while watching the beautiful sunset. Before sunset, we found a massive sea cave, and they played in the black sand until they had dirty feet. The sky lit up with the most gorgeous hue of pink as we gazed out at the ocean. A great way to end their sunset engagement session in Muriwai. I will always remember those stunning views and Jinny and Jae’s incredible engagement session in Muriwai.
