Lauren and Chris were married in an intimate backyard wedding with their families. I flew to Texas a week later to meet them for an epic wedding adventure in Big Bend National Park. We explored Big Bend with their two fur babies and stayed in Terlingua ghost town. A unique little town, once a mining town, is now the home base for travelers visiting Big Bend.
I met Lauren and Chris in Terlingua, a rad little ghost town in the middle of the desert. Located deep in southwest Texas, Big Bend offers an incredible experience for couples seeking an adventurous escape. After meeting in Terlingua, we drove down a 4×4 road to a yurt in the heart of the desert.
We drove out to Santa Elena Canyon, one of the most popular locations in Big Bend. A 1500ft canyon wall towers above the Rio Grande as it winds through the 8-mile canyon. Afterward, we drove to the Chisos Mountains and eventually returned to Terlingua for the sunset with their pups. Of course my favorite part of the day! We photographed the warm desert light until it set behind the mountains, and the stars filled the sky. Big Bend is one of the best places to star-gaze, as there is no light pollution. Their wedding adventure in Big Bend National Park was the best way to celebrate their special day.
